John enlists technology, nature, architecture, light, sound, video and the intimate human experience of mark making in an effort to process the challenge of being human. Having been diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2016 and continually battling it since, he is reminded on a daily basis of mortality, the plight of being human and the need to find meaningful experiences and relationships throughout the journey.

His work has been presented at The New Museum, AT&T Performing Arts Center | Wylie Theatre, Dallas and The Guggenheim Museum, NYC among others.

In addition to his art practice, John strives to create opportunity for artists working with light, projection mapping and video to present their work. He is a founding member of Light Year, a single-channel video public art exhibition series presented monthly on the Manhattan Bridge Anchorage since May 2015 to present. He co-created and curated numerous single channel and projection mapped video exhibitions including Codex Dynamic and Initiations, both on the Manhattan Bridge and Illuminated Ops in Washington DC. He has also created major light festivals including Form & Substance in Miami and The New York Festival of Light. He is currently working on development of a light festival in Manhattan and curating a video exhibition of works created with Artificial Intelligence.
